About Tamyra
I’m Tamyra Walker—an educator, learning designer, and Ed.L.D. candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, dedicated to building educational systems that prepare learners for a rapidly shifting world.
My work lives at the intersection of equity, STEM, and emerging technology. From leading district-wide math reform to co-facilitating computational thinking bootcamps at HBCUs, I’ve spent nearly two decades helping schools and organizations transform how they teach math, science, and data.
Currently, I serve as Associate Director of Instructional Design and Mathematics at ConnectED and as an adjunct professor at Trinity University, where I support math coaches in DC Public Schools and help shape the future of teacher preparation in mathematics.
Previously, I directed STEM learning across the Envision Schools network, led national DEI and workforce development efforts at #YesWeCode, and co-developed culturally responsive math curriculum for K–12 learners.
What I’m About
Supporting educators to shift from procedural instruction to purposeful, future-aligned learning
Designing tools and experiences that build transferable reasoning skills and center community knowledge
Helping systems respond to emerging technologies with ethical, imaginative leadership
I believe education should do more than keep up with change—it should shape it.
